This special edition newsletter brings exciting updates for the Data Mesh Learning community that will help us unite and grow as a community. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve brought on Founding sponsors, created an advisory board, and scheduled our first Data Mesh Days event coming up in May.
With sponsors onboard, we’ll be able to deliver new programs and resources to meet our mission of helping end users on their data mesh journey. Please know that even though vendors are providing support, Data Mesh Learning will continue to be an independent, vendor-neutral community. We do not exist to benefit any company in particular.
Thank you to everyone who is on this journey with us, and thank you to our founding sponsors: Platinum sponsors Agile Lab, Nextdata, Reltio and Starburst; Gold sponsor Striim; Silver sponsors Acryl Data, Hasura and Soda; and Bronze Sponsors Atlan, Collibra, data.world, Monte Carlo, Snowflake and ThoughtWorks.
Read on to learn about what’s coming - from a new blog and website updates to end-user roundtables, events, and lots more resources you’ve been asking for.
End User Roundtables
We recently introduced a new program for community members based on community feedback: End User Roundtables.
These are private, informal discussions about data mesh for end users only (no vendors or consultants) facilitated by a Data Mesh Learning staff member. We have a few slots left for the inaugural roundtable to be hosted in early April. Interested? Fill out this form, and we’ll be in touch to schedule. This program will occur monthly, so add your details, and we’ll let you know of open slots for future dates.

While organizations see the value and potential of Data Mesh, many struggle to overcome common obstacles that slow down time to value or even derail the project.
Companies involved in data mesh projects often ask:
How to win common challenges to speed up the implementation and adoption process
How to apply data mesh standards, enforcing quality, security and compliance in a distributed system.
To answer these questions, Agile Lab, working on Data Mesh implementations since 2020, has created a white paper to help organizations identify, avoid and solve the most common obstacles for a successful Data Mesh initiative.
